If you're new to DIY, electrical work can feel intimidating. But there are several small tasks that are completely safe and manageable with the right tools and know-how such as motion sensor lights. Here are five fixes anyone can try:

  1. Changing a Light Bulb – Sounds basic, but using the correct wattage and bulb type for your fixture makes a big difference.

  2. Replacing a Switch Cover Plate – Just remove the screws and swap the old plate for a fresh one. No wiring involved!

  3. Resetting a Tripped Breaker – If a circuit trips, head to your breaker panel and flip the switch back to the ON position.

  4. Replacing a Worn Outlet Cover – Like switch plates, these are easy to swap for a quick facelift.

  5. Installing a Battery-Powered Motion Light – Great for outdoor spaces and doesn’t require any wiring.
